Investments
While SIPPs offer a wide range of investment options, @sipp delivers a degree of flexibility and technical expertise that many of our competitors don’t. Instead, we offer the full range of investment options allowed under HMRC rules.
Theses options include:
• Stocks and shares quoted on an HMRC recognised Stock Exchange
• Securities listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM)
• Deposit accounts
• Trustee investment bonds
• Fixed-interest securities
• Futures and options
• Unit trusts & Investment trusts
• Traded second-hand endowments
• Commercial property (though not residential property)
• Land
• Open-ended investment companies, including hedge funds
• Gold bullion
• Unlisted shares
Arranging your investments
You can take responsibility for your own investment decisions, or you might want to appoint a qualified adviser to help make decisions on your behalf. Either way, we’ll be on hand to process your instructions efficiently, quickly and accurately.
Once funds have cleared in your plan, all you (or your financial adviser) need to do is put your instructions in writing and send us any vital documentation – we’ll do the rest. Your investments are then made in the name of @sipp (Pensions Trustees) Limited on your fund’s behalf.
Stocks and shares
If you wish to purchase stocks and shares, all you need to do is get in touch with us so we can open a nominee account with your Stockbroker. Your Stockbroker can then look after your portfolio on a discretionary fund management basis or you can deal with it yourself on an execution-only basis. You can also invest in shares of some unlisted companies – though there are conditions that need to be satisfied.
Trustee bank account
Any funds that you haven’t invested will be held in your plan’s Trustee Bank Account. While it’s not intended as an investment vehicle in its own right, it will, where the Bank of England base rate allows, earn interest while you decide on the best investments for your fund.
Please note – we provide and administer SIPPs, but do not offer advice on the suitability of SIPPs or on the investments you make. If you do need guidance, we strongly recommend you contact a financial advisor.
